I was going that route then found out I don’t qualify for the tax credit.

That is beast mode.

Multiple people in my family had those in the 80s. My friends always wanted me to take my parent's suburban out like it was a party bus

I guess I'll just drive older vehicles moving forward. I could afford a 60k truck but I'm not willing to pay that much for a vehicle.

Last year I bought a 2018 Volvo XC90 with 43K miles for $29,999. All bells & whistles.

Salesperson at dealer told me that when used cars sit at the lot for 90+ days, they knock off $3K-4K to sell faster.

From GMC's website:

It's like they are trying to resist being over $100,000 MSRP.

As if some marketing guy at GM said "wait a minute, the guys across the hall at Cadillac said that if we charge any more for this, their Escalade will be the cheaper alternative."

Honestly good for them if they can sell them. GM is by far the market leader for full sized SUVs and knows what they are doing in that arena. And the Denali sub brand has been a raging success for GMC, hitting the target audience right on the bulls eye. They clearly found the right formula, and I'm glad GM sort of back tracked on their "EV only by 2035" statement. Someone clearly talked some sense into their woke CEO.

Then don't buy the suburban local. We bought a new suburban not long ago and didnt play close to that and that was with the additional cost of the pearl white and bucket first row seats. We also didnt go with the navigation package bc with apply play and ways it's basically pointless. Other than than it has everything we could possibly want on a vehicle and I think we paid around 60k.

That's the poor person truck. Denali Ultimate is the highest trim, and they are easily $100K.

We have had 2 Suburbans and currently have a Yukon XL. Our first Suburban in around 2004 was about $35k. When we bought our most recent Yukon in 2018, the price for new was already north of $50k, so we bought one that was 1 year old.

They've been super expensive for years.

I always viewed those as a luxury. Every person who has a new one tends to have quite a bit of wealth from what I've seen.

Fair point. And you are also pointing out how luxury brands like Lexus and Cadillac rely more on gimmicky styling and unnecessarily massive touch screens to set them apart....since the typical qualitive aspects that go with a luxury vehicle are also found on higher trim Chevrolets and Toyotas.

Lexus used to know that quality made their cars stand out above the rest. Not overdone styling or shock features. I would argue that the Lexus LS was the best luxury car on the market when it came out in the late 1980s. It wasn't the sexiest and it wasn't trying to be. It was going after the buyer that considered perfect build quality and extremely good reliability as luxury features.

Now they are full on bling now, because that's what Mercedes, Cadillac, and BMW are doing.

TBF that HAD to do something. The GX 460 looked like it came from the 90s on the interior.

That's the diesel. For like 1500 more you can get the 6.2. I was showing the prices I stated.

Every single one starts under $80,000.

Order what you want, do not buy off dealer lot. Dealers load up options to maximize profit.
