What’s he mean by this? Like African child soldier that was brought here?

A Shreveport police report narrative dated March 18, 2019, and reviewed by East Texas Banner, shows Elkins was previously arrested in a weapons case after officers said he fired multiple shots near Caddo Magnet School while children were outside on school grounds. According to the report, officers recovered shell casings and determined that at least one projectile traveled through a shed and struck or ricocheted near the school boundary where children had been present. The same report says Elkins told officers he had fired about five shots at a vehicle, was taken into custody, and was booked into city jail. The report also states that officers recovered a Ruger 9mm handgun from the residence as evidence.

This fricker shouldn’t have been out on the streets. Especially not years ago, considering he seems to have fathered multiple kids in this time

How would this help the Democrat party if we did this?

Answer: IT DOESN'T.

With that, prepare to continue to be terrorized by their foot soldiers.

again for those that whine we have too many incarcerated - we obviously don 't have anywhere near enough incarcerated and the impact and cost on society is ENORMOUS.

31 years old and 8 kids - that we know of and likely no job.

I think we have a lot of the wrong people incarcerated. Violence, especially gun violence or any violence against a woman or child, should be draconian.

Non-violent offenders shouldn't be given such lengthy sentences and sometimes shouldn't be in a jail at all.

That's my take. There are non-violent offenders getting decade + sentences and people like this are on a rotating door out of prison right when they go in.

You think a kid said that? It was a retired army officer.

This is correct. Although a lot of non-violent offenders are actually violent, and have plead down to non-violent offenses, or have finally gotten caught on a non-violent offense after years of violence.

If you commit a crime with a gun, or really any serious violence against an innocent person, you should receive an extremely lengthy prison sentence.

Based on that, this guy should've been in jail when this happened.

True, but in my hypothetical justice system, this wouldn't happen. You commit violence, you're going to jail for a very, very long time.

And you do it again, we throw away the key.

Agreed. A lot of things can be explained away. But violence cannot. If you have the mentality to carjack someone, or commit armed robbery or even worse, you are lost as a civilized human and deserve no sympathy.

This is my biggest beef with the “justice reform” crowd. They look at convictions for something like drug possession or theft and never acknowledge that a lot of those are plea deals where the original charge was some type of violent crime.

100%

And the frequent argument we hear is “think of their family” and “we can’t take them out of their kid’s lives”.

If we incarcerated violent offenders for prolonged periods of time and got them off the streets and out of these homes, the black community would likely improve substantially.

A certain political ideology cannot have that though.

As usual, we need Euros to report inconvenient domestic news.

Here, it was still up from when they thought it was a white guy. One thing's for sure. We definitely won't get the weeks-long anti-gun PR campaign that they always have locked and loaded.
