The don’t really serve any positive purpose. They’re an apex predator that eats up a lot of the food animals on the islands where they live. I don’t think they’re really good for anything and they’re a real menace to people and other animals. They are not afraid of humans and actually see us as food and are quite aggressive towards us.

Is there any reason to keep them in existence? I can’t think of anything.

I’m guessing some animal lovers will say that they’re “mostly peaceful” predators and wouldn’t hurt a fly.

Random.

Did you have a run-in with a Komodo Dragon?

Apex predators do serve purposes.

like all predators, they keep the population numbers of their prey in check.

They live on like a handful of Indonesian islands. I think we'll be ok.

Should the common housecat be exterminated?

I've heard tell of ancient man trying to ward off komodo dragons with torches ... and when the dragon burped (the only way they can release methane gas) fire erupted. Thus the legend of the fire-breathing dragon was born. But I dunno fo sho ... I wasn't there.

If you want to go extremist with environmentalism, you'd have to conclude that humans have been super harmful to planet earth and must be exterminated.

Something to think about when considering the political viewpoints of the entities designing and coding these early AI tools that might eventually be embedded into healthcare programs like EPIC.

Unless they make it to SE LA, I don't see a reason to eradicate any animal in their natural habitat

Komodo Dragons might be a good way to eliminate rats.

Let's bring them in

They're really good at scavenging as well. They are the apex predator of the area, of course they do some good.
