Do you enjoy living in Dallas? Unless you absolutely love Dallas, move.

Btw I just moved from Dallas go Austin and give me Austin every time

Scenery is better, the traffic is better (lesser of two evils, but better), a lot more things to experience imo

Do you really think the cost of living is that different between Dallas and Austin?

You’ve never compared (apples to apples) Austin real estate to Dallas, have you?

When i tell you that Austin real estate is at California prices, i’m not exaggerating.. it’s astronomical.

The cities are so different and that's not enough of a raise to make this a no-brainer.

Which city do you prefer?

Both can be reasonable or high as giraffe pussy depending on how close you want to be to the metro area.

Seems also safe to assume he’s not in the home buying market. Rent is pretty similar again depending on your area

If you were good living in Dallas in the first place then Austin doesn’t want you

Rent is another story.. but in re to buying, home prices in Dallas are similar to Houston, or Kansas City, or Cleveland, or pretty much any other generic American city.

Austin home prices are similar to Los ANgeles, or San Francisco, or Wash DC metro.. cant believe i’m even having to type this, anyone with even the slightest familiarity with the markets knows it.. if you haven’t already discovered this, then you really have no idea.

Move. You're single and have the chance to live somewhere new. Give it a shot.

Again I highly doubt a single dude that’s willing to move cities for a 3k raise is in a position that he’s home buying.

I've lived in much better outdoors towns so Austin is a massive let down for me on that front and that's why I would never live there. It's not a cost of living thing or that I'm in line with Dallas. Dallas is a much more cookie cutter, plain Jane city I've ever lived in.
