There's no ghetto in Austin. Very rich and white town.

You should go.

They don't have enough traffic in Austin.

What’s up with the pretentious Austin pricks not wanting people to move there? I see this on reddit a lot. Chances are, you didn’t grow up in Austin proper. If you did, still, STFU and live and let live

I wouldn't leave Dallas for Austin unless you are going to work for Franklins.

For real though. In 2001 from January to March, I commuted 3 days a week from my apartment at Mockingbird Station to Downtown Waco to the county CAD for a project. Man I don't miss that commute and the OP reminded me of it. They still got that Whataburger just north of Waxahachie? My only joy on them morning drives.

Got a job offer in Austin, 3K pay raise, better 401k. No kids. Slampiece in Dallas. What’s the OT say?

To me, the 3k wouldn’t make much of a difference either way, that’s so small that I would hardly factor it into my decision (depends on what your salary is now but I’ll assume entry level around 50k)

Comes down to I guess where you want to be and what you want to do. Will the new job have more advancement opportunities for you, be better on your resume, or get you into the industry you want to be in? Basically what gets you closer to where you want to end up professionally. Think that’s what I would focus on here

Don't believe the Austin hype. The city is a shell if it's former self. Crime, homelessness, trash have all increased substantially and are only getting worse. It's become overrun with the Cali progressive retard libs. Austin used to be a chill little town where hippies would hang out, play a little music, smoke a little grass, and just be happy. The hippies are all gone now for the most part, high rise apartment buildings have destroyed a once beautiful and unique skyline downtown. Traffic is horrendous, home prices have skyrocketed, toll roads are stupid expensive here and everywhere.

That said, it's still better than Dallas.

Just got back from a vacation there. If you don't move to Austin, you're mentally insane.

Recent “no such thing as homeless laws” just passed you can share your sidewalk or front yard with a Zero with no recourse . I have to go there once a quarter for work and it’s a fukin toilet seat down there now. Pitiful to see a once cool city destroyed by the zealots .
