Should I get a gun for the home or no?

I have been wanting to get a gun for the home for awhile now. Only problem is my wife hates guns and is scared of them and since we have a toddler she is scared he would find a way to get to it getting older. Should I said freak her and buy it or should I get a pellet gun. I seen videos on YouTube that a pellet gun can still cause some damage and saw where people shot in the head had to learn how to walk and talk all over again.

A pellet gun doesn't do shite. The assailant will laugh at you.

If you are asking these questions, get the pellet gun.

As evidence by the CC thread, there is alot of ignorance about guns on the board. Move this to the OB and you'll get some good answers.
Yes.

If you are leaving a decision like this to a message board, you probably shouldn't get one.

She obviously didn't grow up around guns. You start with the pellet gun, so she can shoot and learn to get comfortable with it. Then you get a shotgun (if its for home defense). Or get an AR, because in a year they will be illegal.

Just install claymores. Baby will never figure out how to work the clacker.

Have a friend sneak in at night and take your baby. Then she'll see the need and won't have to worry about your kid getting to it later.

12 gauge pump. Just racking a shell into the chamber will get peoples' attention.

That's pretty sad that you let your wife tell you what to do
