Tell your wife to stay in the kitchen and leave the family decisions to you. Get a gun and put it in a place where your kid can't get to it (some place high)

Get you a Mossberg Maverick 88 from academy and some buckshot. Cheap, effective, keep it on a high shelf some place

We use to shoot each other with bb & pellet guns. I was probably in my pre-teens/early teens when we use to have neighborhood wars during the summer. We would shoot from far away & there is no question that shite stings, but no one is intimidated by a pellet gun.

I'm probably in the minority here; but I wouldn't just "put it up high". I was all up in my parents closets when I was a kid. You need a proper gun safe (doesn't have to be a top of line; just something a kid cant easily open without a key/combo). Also, teaching your kid (and wife) about firearms would go a long way.

Hey, he can get whatever. Makes no difference to me. I personally have a 12 gauge pump, .357 mag, Ruger SR1911, and a .270. That's plenty for me.

Get a shotgun and buckshot. Get a gun rack that you can put on the wall out of the reach of your todler. Lock your doors and get a small dog that will alert you if anyone tries to break in. With a shotgun you can just point and shoot.
