Thx for ruining my 1st scheduled Christmas off in 8 years. I hope all of your presents are stolen tonight and you get fired when your Christmas illness subsides.

You could have said you are sick yourself. They were smart.

Maybe you should close for the biggest holiday of the year.

If you ever take off for Christmas, you get the hell out of town, or at least that’s your story. Can’t come in if you’re in another state. That’s shift/hourly 101.

That’s fricked up. Back when I was working offshore we would all get together and figure it out. A few of us single guys didn’t really care so we’d help out the baws with families. Especially if he was divorced and it was his Xmas.

Enough to not have to concern myself with shift work.

That's being a real friend for a coworker. I did the same early in my career as well. Work the weekend maintenance shift for the family guys.

When I worked shift work it was double time and 12 hours PTO earned for the day.

No one there ever called in. I actually wanted to work Christmas but the holidays are just normal days to me.
