That’s a massive moderate risk area. People have to take the straight line wind threat just as seriously as the tornado threat. Treat severe thunderstorm warnings like tornado warnings.

Damn I’m right on the line of the 15% tornado probability

Yep, to my north and east and moving quite rapidly. Chance of snow, not much, for us on the backside overnight - has to be a pretty potent system

Do they still do the Torcon index? Can’t find it anywhere

That’s a Weather Channel thing only, I believe.

Yep. Something could get going out there even with more stable air. The window for development is smaller, though.

I bet wafb has a pleasure room that they beat off in before they go on air. They definitely get dick hard boners when bad weather is coming. Thank God it's on Saturday cause you know kids would be out of school

You do that after you go on air so you can bring that energy with you.

"Loaded Gun" in DFW this morning. Notice the rightward notch on the red line, that is a warm stable layer that will keep storms in check. There will be explosive development once that is gone. You don't typically see these types of soundings up here in the winter.

Now it appears to have the potential for supercell development ahead of the line (for AL on Saturday). If that trend continues, it wouldn't be surprising to see the SPC expand the Enhanced area farther north, covering the large majority of the state of Alabama.
Yes, that Significant Tornado Parameter chart doesn't bode well for here in central/north central AL, in particular the time of day doesn't help...right in prime time heating for us.
