I owe $11,0000.00

If this is true, why do you live in a shanty?

Used TurboTax for years but they want you to pay now so I used one of the free sites listed on the IRS website.

For state I file directly on the Louisiana Dept of Revenue site.

Actually I withdrew money from an IRA I inherited to use as a down payment on a new shanty.

But I didn't have taxes withdrawn from it , so now I get to pay them all at once .

I'm sure the (new) government will use my money wisely

Turbo Tax, but the IRS should be doing everyone's taxes and then send us a bill or the refund. And if you contest it then you do the work.

If I told how complex my return was you wouldn't believe it.

Hell, I don't believe it...

H&R Block. Used it last year and loved it. In the interest of full disclosure I'm also a stockholder.

Before last year I did them by hand, but it just got to be too much of a pain.

I used turbo tax for a long time and 5 years ago started using tax hawk. Not sure why I did but am very satisfied.

Importing my previous returns and W2s is a time saver, but the cost is exorbitant for the actual service.

Freetaxusa imports your info from year to year as well.

I have used most of them through the years and the one I like the best is H&R Block Tax Cut. It just seems more intuitive to me.

I went from TurboTax, to FreetaxUSA, then back to TurboTax for some reason that I don’t remember. TurboTax has now gotten pretty ridiculous in what they charge for me doing the work. Planning on returning to FreetaxUSA this year.

Turbo tax is all anyone who’s willing to do their own will need. I think I’m just used to intuit products as I just don’t like H&R interface from past years.
