This is such bull crap The sniper sure didn’t fall off. And the pitch on that roof looks to be 1 on 12, and if, if, if it was too unsafe why wasn’t there someone over watching it. I was part of 2 motorcades, one was 43, one was for Cheney, they had everything over watched

I read this as I watch a group of Mexicans carrying 4 bundles of shingles up a 8/12 pitch of a two story house while wearing tennis shoes.

1 on 12 is the required max slope for an ADA ramp

So if that’s the case, it’s at the threshold set by federal law for someone in a wheelchair to be able to access safely.

'That building in particular has a sloped roof at its highest point. And so, you know, there's a safety factor that would be considered there that we wouldn't want to put somebody up on a sloped roof,' she told ABC News in an interview Tuesday.

I am not certain because I haven't look closely but it looked like about a 3/12 roof. My grandmother could walk that without any more risk than getting on the thing.

EDITED - I just looked and the one the sniper who killed the shooter from is about a 3/12. The one the shooter was on is less than that....its almost flat. Mechanically sealed metal roofs can be .5/12. Snap lock standing seam can be 2/12. 3/12 is the minimum by IRBC....3 inches of rise in a foot of run, about 14 degrees. Thats pretty close to flat....

Surprise the SS didn't have to tie off and keep 3 points of contact since they were over 6' off the ground.

For how often everyone complains about the government being inept why is it so hard to believe that they were inept for this situation. Usually the simplest explanation is the correct one. How long ago was it that a bunch of agents got fired for banning hooker and doing blow on assignment in advance of the president SS has had issues.

That lady should have already been fired after the first shot. This is the worst SS failure since JFK and probably worse than JFK if Trump didn't turn his head at the last second.

There’s a safety factor, meeting…. Essentially, she just said “We don’t want to injure one of our Secret Service agents, but we are OK with a presidential candidate getting shot from a sniper who has positioned himself up there.”

The explanation needed is:

Why did folks in the crowd spot a shooter on the roof and let police/secret service know and they didn't communicate that to get him off the stage immediately? And how did he get by all the security with a long rifle and get up there?

It is kind or surprising....or guard rails around the perimeter of the roof.

This. This wasn't some grand conspiracy. This is the result of our federal agencies rotting from within. Pure incompetence.

Decided not to put anyone on the roof because it was "too sloped". Decided, instead, to "secure the building from inside". Decided to use said building as a "staging area" for police and security. Decided to put the sniper team that could have (should have) been on the roof inside the building where they actually saw the guy through a window just prior to the shooting.

And the dude still waltzed right up to the fricking building, climbed on top with a rifle, shimmied up the unshimmiable sloped peak, faced down and ran off a Barney Fife cop, got a bead on the former (and possibly future) President of the United States, and took the shot, all while a crowd of people (some drunk and dressed like clowns) yelled and waved at police telling them a guy with a gun was on the roof. All of this after he was twice spotted, tabbed as a suspicious person, had his picture taken, and was called in to other security personnel as a potential security threat.

frick me what a disaster.

Its probably worse. Given the amount of vitriol and the number of crazy bastards wanting to become famous (or infamous) you'd think the perimeter would have been FAR larger than it was, at least, and every roof in the area within practical range would have someone with a gun on it. It is really amazing more people weren't hit or worse.

That was legit her answer?

It is unreal to me that a position like that would ever be given to any single person except someone that was prior special forces.

How in the frick can you have any idea how to possibly have to go into defending a person against gun fire and then securing the location, and then being able to advance on target to stop the target?

The fact that a position like director of secret service is even considered for a female is beyond stupid
