There's a very good chance that some alien life is observing us as we were a few hundred years ago just none of us have a method of traveling faster then the speed of light

I used to get pretty excited hearing about exoplanet discoveries, especially with all the right planetary conditions, but almost all of our discoveries involve red dwarf stars which are shite for earth-like conditions and life.
-Tidally locked, so a planet with liquid water, O2, etc would have extreme conditions on the side facing the star and likely be frozen solid on the dark side. (Might be a small region between the two that is calmer tho)
-the spectrum of light from red dwarfs basically make photosynthesis impossible, so plant-life is unlikely
-Red dwarfs emit a bunch of x-rays and solar flares regularly which pretty much sterilize its planets
Planets around red dwarfs will probably make great rest stops for energy/mass supplies one day once civilization is interstellar, tho
The exciting news will start when we are able to discover good planets around G-type stars(similar to our sun). Right now I think the data is lacking and we just haven’t spent much time observing stars(Kepler only scanned for something like 3 years)
