They should prohibit all nonprofits from applying if the determining factor is “paying taxes”, and it isn’t as if Scruffy is opposed to that.

Tons of non paying citizens are receiving stimulus monies.

You know why the churches are getting it. The people who go to church vote so there's a certain delegation that constantly needs victimhood incoming dollars for votes. Gots to pay for the vote even though the vote is 100% guarantee for one party. Mo money mo money mo money

This is the thing though, you don't NEED all these things to practice religion. I will say that if other non profits can get it, I understand, but this is why religion is criticized so much.

If churches are in that boat, then why would any other nonprofit, such as United Way, Habitat for Humanity, etc. be allowed to apply. These nonprofits do not pay taxes either. Why are churches singled out because they don't taxes when these others are allowed.
Yes, churches do employee people, administrative staff, janitorial staff, preachers, etc.

Well if the SBA is giving them loans, then they are saying churches are in fact a "business" so they should be taxed.

I’ve seen arguments that makes sense but at the end of the day it all crumbles when you take into account the way Churches bend “separation of church and state” to their advantage in basically any other scenario.

One thing that most people on this board don't realize is the purpose of the PPP loan is keep people on payroll. So the PPP is calculated by payroll expenses, such healthcare, benefits, salaries and PAYROLL TAXES.
All nonprofits including churches have to pay payroll taxes for their employees.

If they are offering it to other non-profits, then how can you lock out religious institutions?
There is no way to justify that.
