so peej, remind us all how this storm wouldn’t have time to intensify to a cat 2, even when it was being forecasted to be that? you dumb frick.

In Peej's defense, one of his spaghetti models did show Sally at Cat 3 strength and hitting Orange Beach.

When do we get to start talking about the system in the BOC and how some models bring it to Louisiana? More model watching to come!

Edit: well shite, there’s an entire thread...

Finally got some good news out from a neighbor in Pensacola Beach! Our place is on beach side of Ft Pickens. Dunes held up and we took no water at all, even the garage was dry!

My condolences to those of you who lost property in this storm. We dodged a bullet somehow.

Now on to 90L....

GPS isn't working right now.. what's the best way to get to Gonzales from Perdido key? Wife thought it would be fun to go down to the beach with the kids but we got pelted by sand and i was too paranoid trying to watch all my kids at once making sure they didn't drown! I'm ready to leave and head home! Thanks for any input..

To the guy with the condo at Perdido sun.. doesn't look bad.. the covered pool roof got tore up some but overall doesn't look bad.

NHC openly admits they are not as good as predicting intensity as they are the track.

Which is a result of data and the tools/resources. Mother Nature is still ahead of technology and etc, and it always will be. Thank you for making my point. Have a good night

Can anyone tell me if I can get to Perdido Key? My parents have a house a few miles east of FloraBama, they rode the storm out here in BR but their neighbor told them they had 3' or so of water in the house this morning so obviously they want to get back ASAP. We're thinking of heading down there Friday, any idea if we can make it from Baton Rouge to Perdido?

First Sally related death in Alabama:

quote:

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. (WKRG) — One person is dead and another is missing after Hurricane Sally.

Orange Beach City Administrator Ken Grimes says a man was killed and a woman is missing in the north side of the Back Bay area. Grimes said it appears to be water-related as a result of Hurricane Sally.

The water on the beach side is still over the roads and lower level parking lots. Why would you try to travel there right now?

Where are you getting this BS from? Water Is on the road in parts of Ft Walton and the low lying road between the Destin pass bridge and Ft Walton. Everywhere else from the city of Destin, through Miramar and past Sandestin resort is fine. Spotty power outages and some tree debris is all there is.

Some friends are supposed to travel to SanDestin tomorrow. Opinions?

If they rented down there, it's probably been canceled. We were notified via email this afternoon and are getting a full refund.

No idea. I live in downtown Pensacola; haven’t heard anything about anywhere outside of escambia county.

It’s a big mess here for sure. Not lake Charles bad, but bad enough.

I Lost a fence, some siding, and some flashing from the roof. Neighborhood looks like shite. A bunch of giant water oaks all over power lines and other houses.

Good times
