Not sure if this Buoy info has been posted yet, but found it interesting. This is for Orange Beach, out in the Gulf.

Reporting from South Baldwin County, no power and lots of trees down. Sally sucker punched us.

Riviera Utilities is staying two to seven days for power to return.

Baldwin County has mandatory curfew in place until 7am tomorrow.

Orange Beach got the teeth knocked out by Sally.

At least it’s cooler tonight & can sleep with windows open.

Hope everyone is safe. This is no fun.

I think everyone everywhere is caught off guard.

From what I’m seeing and hearing this storm was more than just a Cat 1 that stalled and lost intensity. This was a bitch and hopefully people that get paid to heed warnings learn from their mistakes on this one.

No doubt. I’m very thankful we got off as light as we did. Many many more we’re not so fortunate.

I still can’t get over this weather. We’re sitting on the porch under some solar lights with a Bluetooth speaker. Kids are dancing in the yard. Life is good.

Sorry for your troubles, these things suck wherever they hit.
If I need to head there to help some friends in south Foley,
will I need anything special? Not a local, they gave us some
shite after Ivan.
Thx, be safe!

From the City of Orange Beach

Hurricane Sally Update – 3 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2020

At approximately 4:45 a.m. this morning Hurricane Sally made landfall in Gulf Shores as a Category 2 Storm with maximum sustained winds of 105 mph. The storm created extremely dangerous and life-threatening conditions.

Bridges remain closed to non-residents. Residents living or working in Orange Beach can pass with proof of residency, re-entry decals or work identification or paystub of local employer. Residents are encouraged to have proper Orange Beach identification such as driver’s license.

Curfew remains in effect nightly until further notice from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. This curfew is to better protect and secure residences and get vehicles off the roads while power is not available. Stay off the roads and be at your destination before dark as downed power lines, potential gas leaks, and debris on roads exist.

Tourists and non-residents can depart the city at any time by following

Perdido Beach Boulevard to Hwy. 161 to Canal Road west to the Beach

Express Toll Bridge route only. No sightseeing while driving out for the safety of all.

Baldwin EMC is working to restore electricity as quickly as possible but transmission lines are in need of repair.

Orange Beach Fire Department Station 1 and Station 2 will provide basic medical triage aid, 24/7, until Monday September 21, as other local clinics are not at full capacity.

The city is working to establish a POD (Point Of Distribution) site for commodities such as tarps, water, ice, etc., which will be located at the campus of the Recreation Center in coming days. Thank you for your patience.

Residents are encouraged to sort your piles into appropriate types such as vegetative, construction & demolition (C&D), white goods (appliances and furniture), hazardous (paint/chemicals/poisons) piled at the edge of the property along the streetside.

Property owners are encouraged to ask for proof of an Orange Beach business license from contractors seeking to do repairs or work on private property. Do not allow smooth talking unknown contractors to do work unless you know they are legitimate or reputable. Avoid paying any cash up front also.

The city’s prepositioned contractor Crowder Gulf will begin clearing roads and right of ways on Thursday along with city crews. Please watch for heavy equipment and give plenty of room.
In the event of emergency, dial 9-1-1.

I wouldn't be totally shocked if NHC ends up upgrading Sally's strength at landfall to Cat. 3 after they do post-storm analysis and reports. There was a measured gust out near Ft. Morgan of 121mph. It wouldn't be surprising if they can find a measurement of 111mph+ for 1 minute sustained.

Is there water on the road or not?

Your the one that decided to get all sensitive about it like I declared the place inhabitable. Don’t get upset with me because you were wrong
