Saw a video on facebook earlier that I'm 99.9% sure was from there. There is no dock left.

Yep. You don't see the Flash Flood Emergency often at all. They put one on early this AM, too.

MrLSU I meant before the storm. If you’re not local to where the boat is — or even if you are. Do you leave it docked? Do you lift it?

And I’d assume that many of these are for business/someone’s livelihood so I’d assume they’re insured?

You post this in jest, but the Waffle House Index is legit.

I've been under just one of those in my life.

32" of water in my structure was the result.

I don't know if it has been posted or not, but the gauge on the Escabia River near Century is expected to Crest at 27.9' which is above the record flood of March 18, 1990.

quote:

34 Some flooding in the eastern sections of Century.

33.2 Bridge flood of Highway 4 floods.

24.2 RECORD FLOOD of March 18th 1990 - Water enters several houses on Worley Road, Daffin Road, and Fairground Road.

23.7 Second highest record flood - Approximately 8 houses become isolated and sections of Mystic Springs Road, River Bend Road and Fairground Road are impassable. Water from the river flows into ponds at B and L Catfish Farm on Mystic Road.

23.3 Widespread flooding of pasture and farm land. Water begins to reach Mystic Springs Road, Worley Road, Mamer Holley Lane and River Bend Road. Approximately 5 houses become isolated in the McDavid and Molino communities. Public boat ramps at Mystic Springs and Fairground Road are submerged.

19 Low lying pastures will flood. Cattle should be moved to higher ground.

17 Considerable flooding of lowlands.

13 Minor overflow of lowlands in the area.

Any word on the Point Clear area. My neighbor just told me his daughter and son in law live along 98 south of Lakewood CC. He has not heard from them since last night.

I know that area has plenty of high spots but that seems like a stupid place to ride it out.

My dad lives close to there - I talked to him this morning and he said the wind was howling all night and they didn't get relief from the eye really but didn't have any real water issues. Most flooding issues are probably south of Lakewood / Grand Hotel.

Cell reception has been really spotty - i wouldn't' worry too much as of yet (I know easier said that done).

Winds have been TS force (over 34 knots) at the Orange Beach offshore buoy for about 50 HOURS and counting...but finally seem to be winding down...
