Did the surge come up enough to flood their vehicle and render it useless? I imagine many are in the same predicament.

And it is salt water.

What’s the scene look like in orange beach as far as folks planning to travel Friday? Got some family supposed to be going out that way.

Stay the frick home. This place looks like a war zone.

People worried about their family trip to the beach right now.

Guess I’m an idiot for asking. Not my vacation. Quit following this thing once Nola was out of the way. I thought landfall was supposed to be Hancock County

I have a feeling my in laws boat across from Ono is toast.....

Just praying now the house isn’t destroyed by all the trees they have

Some but in their little neighborhood stayed. I bet that’s a rodeo right now

It’s all houses on slabs in there all surrounded by 100+ year old oak trees......

Not sure what your needs are or your aptitude, but beings you probably have some time on your hands try to fix it. If you start a thread on it there are many who could walk you through a basic carburetor cleaning and usually thats all that it wrong with them

A big chunk of the pier at Gulf State Park is gone. (I think it is that pier, not the one in Orange Beach)

Flooding is going to be a major issue for several days now. Like the other posters said, i would not advise you to drive if you are safe where you are. With all the rain, inland bodies of water will continue to rise for several days and a car is the worst place to be if that happens. You could become trapped if you get too far on the road and can’t continue, but can’t go back, either. Try to judge how safe you are at your current location, how much food and water you have, and go from there. In the 2016 flood my kids and i allowed ourselves to be boat rescued, but looking back we would have been better staying put since we had to sit out in the sun for extended time with no food or water or bathrooms, waiting to be moved, and the shelter was worse than our home and family couldn’t reach us for several days. For you, it may be different. You might have to make quick judgements based on limited information, but please make safety your main priority.

The last thing I saw yesterday was that she was weakening. We still have a lot to learn.
