I appreciate, i'm sure everything is fine up that way. The mouth of fish river, bon secour, the feeder rivers / bays and the beach obviously where all that water is trying to funnel probably has people nervous. He has lived their his whole life so knows the drill and had one of their friends who lives in a low lying house on the bay come stay with them.

I was just expecting this thing to have moved the frick along when I woke up this morning.

Mine is in Wolf Bay and I’m sure it’s totaled. Small things like that really don’t matter much.

We are safe and dry.

Thanks for all the reports

I have friends over on eastern shore.
No word from them

I want to head over and bring supplies. Would love to know when all clear to enter.

I’ll bet it’s flooded on the bottom floor if nothing else.

What’s the scene look like in orange beach as far as folks planning to travel Friday? Got some family supposed to be going out that way.

Another Fairhope resident here. Power went out at 9pm. It has been steady hard wins with gusts every 5-10 seconds.

Like others have said, it will take a long time for power to be back everywhere.

What a time for my generator to breakdown.

I just heard from my buddy on canal south of wolfs bay. Said damage is bad. Cars overturned, everything is flooded.

He decided to ride it out based on the forecast. This storm is going to make a lot of people re evaluate how they handle the next one.

I’m not sure what could have been done? It was hard to call, but I mean we couldn’t have expected everyone from OB to Destin to evacuate when it was supposed to hit Louisiana/ MS. Just bad luck, it sucks

The water levels are crazy. 2-3 ft already with 60-100mph winds and it’s moving 3mph

This thing has been trending toward Bama/FL since Sunday evening. It didn’t just come out of nowhere

Ya, so people had 24 hours to decide whether to leave or not - and most thought the storm was going to hit earlier than that and be weaker than it ended up, so the decisions weren't being made with a Tuesday impact in mind.

Gonna leave as soon as we can.

This is important. Dont leave and put those kids at risk until the water is clear from your exit route.

You aren’t gonna die in your beat up rental. There is a real prospect of you and your family dying in a flash flood if you don’t ensure you have clear roads back to LA.

Save your phone batteries. When the wind clears go on the city, county and state DOT site to check road closures. Then confirm weather and when the coast is clear pack and roll out.

I’ll give you the earlier than expected but everyone has said it would be Cat 1- Cat 2.

I’m not shittin on people for deciding to stay, but this storm didn’t take an unexpected turn or anything. I believe there was time to make proper decisions.

How was the weather for Gauthier, MS? I have some friends over that way that live pretty close to the water.

Fine, Hindsight and all like I said. Given the prediction until even Sunday nobody in OB thought it was necessary to evacuate. I don’t think they even had a mandatory evacuation for the hurricane? The only evacuation was probably for low lying areas due to flooding.

Look all I’m saying is you can’t be perfect. This storm was bad luck.

It also has stalled for so long, if it had moved a little faster it would have been a lot better.
