I have to wonder if one day NHC will do storm analysis and upgrade Sally to a 3.

Yeah, it’s sort of between Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. It’s part of the Gulf State Park. It was built after the original one was destroyed by Ivan.

Getting 15 -18 foot waves at PB right now. We’re hoping they don’t breach the dunes and flood Via de Luna road. Sun is just starting to come up here.

Gulf State Park pier:

Oh wow, they just redid that pier. Like I think it was just about to reopen or maybe had just reopened.

They had a pic by the front office, at least they used to, of waves from Ivan smashing down on top of that end part.

I hope everyone makes it out without too much loss. Prayers sent!

Yeah I think it just reopened. Talked to parents, they think their house is gone. They are up in Foley, said it’s rough. House is off Cotton Creek/ inter coastal

Relative on Ono has water on their bottom floor.

Sorry to hear all of that — did wind or water do the most damage to their house? Best wishes for them going forward. Glad that they evacuated.

Glad you’re doing ok. I have cousins in Gulf Breeze. Hopefully they’re fine. They’ve lived there since the 70’s and went through Ivan. My ex is in Orange Beach. He just closed on a waterfront house last week and has a 42’ sailboat in a marina there. Really feel for him. One of our kids just got hit by Laura.

Ya the mouth of fish river has flooding problems even in just really hard rainstorms.

Just heard from my dad in Fairhope - been in the western eyewall for hours with the wind really blowing but house is holding up ok and no major tree problems hitting them.

All those areas south where the rivers feed into the bays and the beach are taking the brunt of the flooding.
