Yea the sky was crazy at sunset. It was somehow as bright to the East as it was to the west. I gazed at it for a while.

No offense but P’cola is a much better city. Less pretentious, cleaner, as many good restaurants and closer to the beach.

What’s with all the hate on anything even somewhat related to Mobile in your threads? I lived there a year and thought it was nice small city. Short drive to the gorgeous east shore area, nice beaches are close by, nice sized city, a good local university and college. It’s basically a smaller, clean family friendly version of New Orleans without all the murderers, whores, stench and filth.

My issue with mobile is the people. I moved to gulf Shores in 2015 and ended up marrying a woman whose family was from mobile, dating back generations.
Swear to Jesus, when I met some of her friends, they asked me where I went to school. I said LSU. They said no, which high school did you go to? I was like, who the fuq cares.

Mobile people love them some Mobile, and share a weird sense of pride. Also, Mardi Gras parades are basically segregated. And that’s why I hate mobile so much.

I agree. I enjoy living here. I enjoy going to New Orleans, but would never want to live there permanently.

Yeah it’s not ideal but it’s still a pretty decent place. IMO nicer than Baton Rouge or New Orleans.
I've lived in BR and Mobile. Outside of what LSU brings to the table, Mobile was much more enjoyable.

mobile heavily wooded and very vulnerable to surge.

I’m trying to decide if I’m going to even pick up my yard on the north shore. Got the essentials done yesterday like generator gas and shopping. Rather not fill up my garage if not necessary

Reading the last few pages of this hurricane thread, it’s pretty obvious Sally is no threat to Louisiana. And I’m good with it.

Rage on, guys.

Which one? The interstate one or the one downtown few people know about that bypasses all the traffic

This is why I prefer NOLA vs Mobile. Lived in both cities for many years. At least Nola has a consistent influx of new folks (women) from outside the area moving in. Mobile people go to college and come right back and marry someone from here as well.
