I know people are mocking this, and I’m sure Putin doesn’t give a shite, but this is the kind of thing that starts to stack up in the popular attention of the average person. And when the average person starts paying attention to the negatives of the conflict, that’s when governments have to be careful that the tide doesn’t turn on them.

Putin is certainly going to remove their troops now.

mock all you want ... but the average Russian likely cares a great deal about the national success of the country's football team, especially in the World Cup.

Something like this could certainly help turn the tide of public opinion.

I'm sure the Russian Soccer Committee will compete well in the World Cup.

Seriously... we are trying to cancel culture Russia? First, we won't sell any Russian vodka, now Russia can't play soccer... Next, Disney will remove Russia from the It's a Small World ride?



I think we need a 'bad guy' Russia to oppose the USA (good guys), I think the world has taken the US for granted since the fall of the Soviet Union.
