So ~40k to put my kid through high school? Wtf are you ppl smoking?

I would rather send my son/daughter to a catholic school than most of the other public garbage establishments in LA.

My parents pay $20k/yr for my younger sister. In Metairie, you get what you pay for

You don't need $20k a year for high school to be successful.

ETA: What's stopping your sister from going to a NOLA school?

doubt your sister is truly getting 100k's worth of education comparatively speaking to another school.

Rummel is behind their competition in the area. It's really not debateable.

i wouldnt say that. Like most academic places of this caliber, you really get what you put in.

the only thing I thought they were poor at, is helping you with the college transition. Putting out apps, trying to pinpoint a potential major, general information about universities. I felt like I had no guidance there.

I was in the honors program at Rummel. It sucked then and I'm sure it sucks now.

And Chad: Late 90s.

Metairie hasn't gone to shite but it is true that people don't want to live in the burbs anymore. It's much cooler to live in the city.

Are we talking about "Old Metairie" too?

Tuition has very little to do with it considering Holy Cross, Jesuit and Brother Martin are busting at the seams.

No idea what they charge now, but I'm pretty sure Rummel was more expensive than Jesuit in the late 90's.

So who is benefiting from Rummel's loss? I assume Jesuit is already maxed out. Brother Martin seems logical and Holy Cross since it moved closer to Metairie makes sense. Jefferson Parish Public schools have not gotten any better?
