It is simply amazing to watch the decline in quality of the store on Drusilla since Leblanc's gave way to Rouses'.

We went to Leblanc's at least once a week and never had a complaint about the quality of food. But since Rouses took over, quality has become abysmal to the point that we've pretty much stopped going. I went today due to having a busy afternoon and it was the worst its been:

1) Nearly every package of ground beef in the case today either expires today or tomorrow.

2) The first three cartons of yogurt I pulled out the cooler were expired.

3) There was not a single chicken leg for sale in the entire store.

4) There was an entire carton of apples that were rotted out sitting out in produce. It wasn't like one or two brown spots, the entire backs of all the apples were rotten to the core.

It's really sad because we shopped Rouses' when we lived in Metairie and it was a great grocery store. I really didn't expect the level of decline when they moved into Drusilla. They could print money in that location (like Leblanc's did) if they had some level of quality control.

I know Rouses' plans to sell to Publix once it acquires enough stores. I really wish they hadn't thrown in the towel in the meantime

My wife says the same thing. She works nearby and used to eat lunch and pickup dinner almost daily from LeBlancs. She said it's terrible now and she drives down to Bocage or Whole Foods instead.

I miss Leblancs. The wine and beer events they put on, while not exactly cheap, were highly entertaining.

Is the same Rouses that everyone loved and spoke highly of on this board (and Food & Drink board) just a couple of years ago?

It's hard not to notice. Hopefully someone from rouses will start paying attention. The former Leblanc's stores have gone to crap. It is shocking how fast they've declined.

I was in that number. The one on Airline in Metairie was great. We shopped their twice a week. This is why the current store is such a shock

Go the Bocage market off Jefferson.

Never have to wait in line, everyone is polite and their produce/meats are always fresh.

No complaints from Juban one. Got a ton of hamburger meat for less than $10 and was good quality.

Sadly yes, the ones in the Metairie area were amazing which is why everyone was excited to get them in the Baton Rouge/Northshore area. We are having the same issues with the one here in Ponchatoula as well. I have had to return meat twice to the store because it smelled like rotten eggs when I opened the package. Now I refuse to buy meat from them. Also their prices seem to be allot higher than other local stores. Thankfully the Winn Dixie is not that far.

Seems like the stores that Rouses actually built are the only good ones. The ones they acquired and bought out suck. My experience is based on the two former Leblanc's (Gonzales and Prairieville) in relation to Long Farm and Denham. I have not been to all of them yet, and will more than likely not ever go.

The 3 rouses in Lafayette are all solid. They were all new stores though which seems to make a big difference
