Is this the same location where there used to be a Save-a-lot or Savemart? If so their shrinkage is going to be insane. Folks used to run in there grab a pack of steaks and book it out the front door even with a sheriff’s deputy in there full time.

Hopefully, the owner will sell January 6th pennants at the event.

Have they seen the Philly WaWa video yet? There is still time to stop this project

That place is going to get business. HiNabor isn't half the store Rouses is and they do great a couple blocks away. This is basically Sherwood/Broadmoor area and not what I consider North Baton Rouge. North of this area is Central, go west and you start getting into the real north Baton Rouge north of downtown all the way up through Baker.

Changing the narrative from Mall City to Grocery City.

Rouses opened up at what I thought was a really bad location several years ago near my folks on the Westbank (Ames & Lapalco in Marrero) but that store is surviving and thriving. They seem to have plenty of security on site, though.

Shoplifting losses are gonna be much higher than they anticipated

So they are basically going between hi nabor and Walmart?
How is that covering more area to fix the food desert problem?

Iirc north Baton Rouge had a ton of Piggly Wiggly's and they were cool as a college student because they were so much cheaper than Albertsons and the local Walmart didn't have groceries .

Broadmoor coming back baby! The hi nabor is pretty decent. But I’m excited for the economic expansions and options.

Actually, yes. The Advocate's lead racist, Will Sutton, made a big deal about its closing & reasons for same. Lighten up, Alice.

There is a reason a food desert exists in NBR.

I used to mange the Exxon Station near that location, but it was 1977

How did Baton Rouge get the racial demographic line to be drawn right along Florida Blvd.?

Everything north of a line drawn from the bridge to the eastern edge of BR is NBR.
