Get a neato.

Superior performance, 1/3 the price of a Roomba.

Love my Neato. It's 4 years old and still working fine. Had to replace the batteries twice. I bought the base model. I don't have pets so no need for a more expensive model.

I got Xiaowa (Roborock brand) and love it. I think I paid $350, plus $50 warranty. My dog has long fluffy hair, so her shedding was turning into tumbleweeds I'd constantly pass blowing around the house. Using the robot vacuum has eliminated that.

Obviously, you don't use it in the same way you'd use sweeping or normal vacuuming. You still need to use a real vacuum on your rugs - as the robot is definitely more of a hard surface vacuum. And you still need to sweep the kitchen occasionally. But for pet hair, it has been a life saver.

Only annoying part is having to ensure every single thing is picked up when you go to use it. I had a dryer sheet that was apparently under the bed get sucked up in it. I worry sometimes about cords getting caught in it.

Ok? Then don’t run it when you’re away. Run it at night when everyone is sleeping and the dog is put up

I don't even know if I could run mine if not home. It is connected to my WiFi and controlled only by my phone, which I assume also needs to be connected to the WiFi.

Although I don't know because I haven't tried to run it from somewhere else.

I have hardwood floors with thin area carpets. So never.

I'll bring a broom out for overhangs it can't get under but that's about it.

Housekeeper comes once a month for deep clean.

Not sure if 34Venture has replied to thread, but the stories of cleaning dog crap out of the rumba have been entertaining.

Got a MooSoo off Amazon for a fraction of the price. Does a good job. Battery life could be better though.

you're such a dumb frick I actually believe you still sweep (faux) hardwoods in your trailer and kick the dust up in your illegitimate kids faces.

can't be as bad as the cigarette smoke though right?

Has to be emptied too much. Quit using it
Prefer vacuuming and sweeping every other day

That Roomba clearly belongs to Scruffy!
It has his name on it.

Roombas doesnt work as well on shaggier carpet. Like others have said it's great to run at night or when you are work for dust / pet hair maintenance. Still need a vacuum for actual cleaning and harder to reach spots behind chairs.

Roomba’s are solid if you don’t have a complicated home... I enjoy it, the only thing I wish the device offered was a “web interface” that allowed to “schedule zones” that the Roomba discovers... granted, if you move furniture/etc. that would just mean the Roomba would just have to “relearn” the room... (ie Schedule Zone A “Family Room” for Thursday @ 8A and Zone B “Kitchen” for Wednesday @ 10a, etc.)

Have had the ROomba s9 for about a year. Other than a few app problems, the thing has been fantastic.

It automatically empties itself. It's relatively quiet. Runs a pretty good schedule, battery life is good, etc. If you keep a relatively clean house the Roomba goes the extra mile and elongates time between deeper cleans and just keeps the floor super tidy with little maintenance.

It's great with pet hair and easy to clean. I don't know if I'd live without one again.

Our house is all wood and tile. One Oriental style rug in the living room. We have a Shark and the thing works great. Small dog and it really helps with keeping the hair to a minimum. Thing gets over cords and thresholds with no problem. We also have a whole house vacuum that we use because the shark can't get everywhere. It does get stuck once in a while. Will get a phone charge cord stuck in the roller brush thing. I think they are worth having.
