Rolling blackouts in Louisiana?

I saw an article this morning saying Louisiana could begin experiencing rolling blackouts soon. It was a questionable source and I can’t find any reputable source reporting it without 19 pop up ads giving my phone herpes so I’m thinking it might not be totally true. Anyone else heard this?

I haven't gotten to that yet, but there is a hundredaire walking around the rainforest in the middle of nowhere in South America who is known to sometimes carry as much as a few $20's in cash with him.

The only thing I read was that Entergy was shutting down power in certain parts of New Orleans to upgrade infrastructure. Nothing about rolling blackouts (which would suck)

The did, or are still doing, something similar in Jefferson Parish. Was funny at all of the mom blogs my wife follows of people bitching about not having notice, and others showing proof of the notice, and the original complainers reply with "Oh, I just tossed that without reading it"
They also make this statement:

Why would you want your a/c & ceiling fans to be shut off at night when you need your house much cooler than you'd require during the day? My guess is they would choose during the day when most people are already out of the house at work or can plan to be out of the house during the time they are working.

Why interrupt and inconvenience a customer's peaceful sleep? They can schedule maintenance during the weekday and with advance notice, customers can leave the house when the power is down.

If the demand for electricity is too high, the power company will black out parts of and area in sequence to avoid a total blackout from the system being too strained.

They basically strategically drop loads to keep the grid balanced to avoid a larger shutdown. Where and when they decide to hit an areas is a dark art. We experienced it in Texas during the ice storm a few years ago.

Not sure what part of LA you live in. We have never had capacity issues in Acadiana.

True. But other things can affect the need for blackouts, like N-1 scenarios when seemingly non-related issues occur like downed lines, or non-scheduled generation outages affecting overall capacity.
There were rolling blackouts in the Acadiana area around 6 years ago, issued by MISO through NRG/Cleco for one day. I do no remember the exact reason, but it was an emergency situation.
