River to crest near 20' Saturday, average levee height in N.O. is 20' (update in OP)

Covered in the hurricane thread but yeah this is pretty fricked up and I don't think it's getting quite enough coverage to get people to prepare.

no, 20 is the lowest spot, not sure where Mr Blue Check got his "average" idea from

For sure it isn’t getting enough coverage. I know they don’t want to cause hysteria but when the corps says it’s putting hesco baskets on top the MS river levees in Nola shite is getting real.

dealing with different scenarios here, Katrina was a storm surge issue, and it wasn't river levees that were the issue. those also didn't top, they broke

I'm assuming that where the low spot is there is an actual spillway for this possibility and not just a grass levee?
