Jameis Winston is baseball Jameis Winston

Not that this really matters, but since you keep saying this, I don’t think Rita is related to Tom Benson by blood. I think Rita’s mother was adopted by Tom Benson.
Honestly it feels like our window is closed already after just a few years ago thinking we were set up for a decade. Repeated injuries to key players, losing Fried, and one bad trade (Murphy) have sapped my optimism.
What a weird playoff game. The doubleheader made Snit manage the game like it’s the Sunday before the All-Star game after playing 22 games in 21 days. Just punted the game from the beginning.
I wish we had just one guy like Arraez who could just hit the fricking ball and doesn’t swing for the fences and miss on every pitch.
I also don’t have a ton of faith in Ozzie going forward. Not a big OBP guy and he’s had a lot of injuries.
Acuña probably can’t play in the field every day. If we keep both Ozuna and Soler, that could be three guys splitting DH time.
Never mind. Zone doesn’t matter if we swing at pitches in the first base dugout.
This is the type of game where you need your manager to go out there and get ejected. No energy from the Braves, a wide zone, and you need runs. Go off on the home plate ump. Maybe he tightens the zone a little (maybe not). If nothing else, it gives us fans some entertainment.
Nothing like watching the Atlanta team you hate win, and the Atlanta team you like collapse.

Surely this was some kind of signal of how to defend the set piece? I can’t imagine any coach being a big enough idiot to call out the score of another game to his team.
What’s the consensus on CJ Nitkowski? I find him annoying. I like advanced stats but he just beats you over the head with numbers. I enjoy the games with Glavine or Frenchy way more.
Bad loss, maybe the worst of the season
It was a nice play but Harris shouldn’t have swung at that ball in the dirt.
The approach is pitiful. Both Harris and Duvall swinging at shite way out of the zone.
Snitker is allergic to pulling a reliever when he doesn’t have it in a high leverage spot.

Shaq and Barkley just killed him. Said he doesn’t run the floor, doesn’t work hard, doesn’t rebound. Barkley said there’s no reason he shouldn’t be averaging 11-12 rebounds per game, and he should be the best player on the team as the #1 pick but isn’t even close to being one of the two best on the team.
Middle schoolers usually put forth some effort on defense.

Fatass can’t even make a FT
At one point he was yelling at them to get their hands up. Ingram looked up and just kept his hands by his sides. Seems pathetic to me that NBA players have to be told to put their hands up on defense like a bunch of children.
The announcers are calling Zion’s mental lapses out. And he gives nothing on the boards.
He looks like he’s getting fatter as the season goes on.

Some coaches cut players when they fumble like that.

Has Allen cut a single player of consequence this season? It seems like Sean Payton would do that all the time, probably to send a message to the rest of the team. (Not saying we should cut Taysom).

In 2006, the league-wide completion percentage was 59.8%. In 2023, it's 64.8%. So Brees was 4.5% above average and Carr is 0.7% above average.

Brees was 27 years old and hadn't peaked yet. Carr is 32 and probably has already peaked. QBs typically peak between the ages of 26 to 30.

Carr has sucked this year.

ETA:
Brees finished 2006 1st in yards, 5th in comp%, 3rd in TDs, and 3rd in passer rating.

Carr is currently 16th in yards, 16th in comp%, 22nd in TDs, and 17th in rating.

Comparing raw numbers from 2006 to 2023 is a bad comparison because the game has changed. Compared to the rest of the league, Carr in 2023 is nowhere close to Brees in 2006.

Thomson just got lucky as shite going to his best bullpen guys too early.

Thompson understands that high leverage situations can happen before the 8th and 9th innings.

Thomson has managed his pitching so well this series

The disparity between him and Snitker in this series has been huge.
