If some of the info posted on this thread is accurate it is going to be a real shite show in Nola this weekend.

And God help them if that system drifts any further east from its current track.

The Atchafalaya River is at moderate flood stage. Any chance there maybe a similar storm surge up its channel especially if the storm has a landfall at or near Morgan City?

I don’t think the Atchafalaya has the same dynamics as the Mississippi because its delta is shielded by the bay. It won’t catch as much easterly flow and the storm won’t have enough time to push water north.
