Has a family had a series of more tragic deaths?

Assassinations, plane crash, boating accidents.

I'd be afraid to leave the house with that last name.

I’m guessing neither of them had life jackets. How in the hell do you not put a life jacket on an 8 year old. You are in a bay wtf. Sad situation but totally avoidable.

I don't buy the story that they took a canoe out on the Bay to chase a ball. Small watercraft on the Chesapeake is mostly a bad idea. No lifejackets on a rough and windy day? It's almost like she wanted the two of them to drown.

But why was the mom going into the water after a ball?

Maybe she was a better canoeist than he was. My wife sews better than I do. Men don't have to be the best at everything you know.

Has to be the inluckiest family in the history of the world. Anyone with the last name Kennedy relates to JFK is in a dead pool. Crazy...

I get wanting to keep the Kennedy shine but she was up to 3 last names? Admittedly a bad place for the convo but how far can that stretch?

Guess they didn't have lifejackets on?

Water temps are likely still so low in the upper Atlantic that life jackets would have been of little use. Once the canoe swamped and they got dunked, there would have been little time to get them out of the water before hypothermia set in and compromised their ability to stay above water.

Very sad.

Seriously that family is cursed.

I’ve done this before. Wind is blowing off shore and you get into boat thinking ball is 75 yards away no problem, next thing you know you are 300 yards away as wind keeps blowing ball. Given that, if someone saw them go I don’t know why no one helped them.

I wanna know what kind of deal Joe Kennedy made with the devil for that family to be as tragedy stricken as it is.

Hell, Prescott Bush was a massive piece of shite and the worst thing that I can think of that happened to that family was Dubya going into Iraq.

Could be used as a middle name. Many people have a family name as a middle name.

Very tragic story. Thursday was really windy. I don't understand why anyone would go after a ball. Was it some family heirloom? And why bring the son after the ball?
