Small business owners like Michael Brafman, who operates The Sandwich Board in New York City, are concerned about it.

Yeah, there’s a line out the door at most popular restaurants. I’m not personally seeing the whole “people don’t dine out these days” claims you see online.
Good restaurants are doing fine. Restaurants with shite food and shite service are going under. I think folks are definitely being more selective and I don't know that it's a bad thing.

Actually … if it includes bacon, it may be disallowed in the city at all. He’s Muslim, after all.

No way.
Inflation was never discussed during Biden's Presidency. It's only discussed now solely for the purpose of hurting President Trump. No other reason.
You must be joking. Inflation and illegal immigration were the two biggest issues during the election. Inflation was discussed constantly, from the “it’s transitory” to the point where Biden actually passed a bill called the Inflation Reduction Act (which was anything but). Why would they name the bill something no one was talking about? Why would inflation need to be reduced if no one thought it was a problem?

Of course.
There's just always some who believe that publishing such articles like these from 2025 through 2028 is only to attack Donald Trump.

Along with all the $7 for a cup of coffee places?
There is no place charging that much for a cup of coffee.

But the people will continue to spend and go out. Consumerism is apparently a religion.

The hungry should eat the other hungry. It is an attempt at a solution, so apparently it is better than nothing.

$7 should be max for an egg sandwich.

Two cups, $15.xx.

This was at a walk-up kiosk place on the ground floor.

Eating out is once a month now.
Not just cost, but overall experience. Most places are cutting service, cleanliness, etc to keep price raises down.
Overall, it just sucks.
Most of these places will just have to die off to reestablish the equilibrium point so prices can stagnate while wages try to catch up.
Maybe we will lose some weight in the process.

Most places need to slash their menus anyway and focus on what they do best.

I'm using that term to describe all drinks served at "Coffee Places." There are many drinks at these places that cost $7. I doubt the women who frequent these places are getting a cup of black coffee. Many of the cold drinks are $7 and some are $8.

Raises prices due to high cost of eggs
Eggs come down and still raises prices
It's why I eat out now maybe 5 times a year. Id rather cook

Inflation now is 2.9%. Inflation during Biden era was 21%. But it's a problem NOW.
Where were these folks, the 4 years of the previous administration?

Kind of like the Affordable Care Act?

I’m fascinated to know who gave you your business or if you are just the most elite troll on this site, because you’re a fricking moron
Because I know the difference between gross profit of an item sold (revenue - cogs) and net profit of a business. The article parts I read were talking about food cost.
Food cost is only one portion of a net profit, as im sure you know.
If you are needing to increase your margins on a $17 egg sandwich to make 5% net profit on the business you have a hell of a lot bigger issues than food cost.

The cost of an egg sandwich with cheese and maybe even bacon is maybe $2.50 and these prices are high: Egg 75 cents Toast- 15 cents Cheese- 50 cents Bacon- $1 Yet they claim to have 5% profit margin and are charging me $7 or this $17. Come on
Your cogs would be all expenses to make that sandwich not just the bread and eggs.
You are leaving out probably the biggest thing, labor.
