Hasn't hurt them yet. They make a killing.

The dumb arse charge. How about not allowing kids. Nah. That would be too smart.
I wouldn't even be out of the parking lot yet before calling my credit union and contesting the charge.

Dude will get the headlines he wanted then wonder why he lost 20% of his business in 6 months.
Versus restaurants that outright banned children and saw their business increase considerably? Some of you are absolutely clueless...

Yeah, you're amazed at the OT's behavior...

There isn't a parent alive that can "control" their children because they're not automatons.

They need to impose the same fee for the large table with the women who are drunk off their asses, and laugh constantly at an obnoxiously loud volume.
Honestly, I’ve had more of a problem with these types of parties than kids.

The Vortex in Atlanta has been open for years with such policies. They even tell you on the menus to get off your cell phone or you won’t be served
I think they also have a no kids policy.

Something tells me that the owner never had or simply hates kids.
If it is a family restaurant, it will go under not too long from now. Suburban moms will spread word of that fee like wildfire. They are about to experience a plummet.

The owner isn’t banning kids—only making parents accountable for making their kids behave. If your kids want to run around the restaurant screaming, then you as a parent need to take the kids outside to the car. Growing up, I remember throwing a fit in a restaurant once and I still remember my dad escorting me into the bathroom and giving me a well deserved spanking. Parenting isn’t rocket science.

Vortex is 21 and older, it’s a bar. Cell phone policy is for when waitress is taking orders or serving you.

I understand what they are trying to do but it seems unenforceable. Bad children is too subjective, no one is going to pay this.

I ate there once while on vacation with my family. The lobster pasta is amazing. We also enjoyed the view of the river. Most of the other diners were older, no kids in sight.

That’s actually a good point. What is your target demographic? Because you are gonna push out the “family friendly” with this.

I’ve got two boys. No way I’m taking those assholes there. They’re well behaved but brothers. I’m not letting a restaurant manager judge my parenting and decide if he gets to impose a random fee on me.
Ban kids or don’t. Naming yourself parenting judge is a shite look

Based on my serial downvoter, someone thinks restaurant workers are in a position to pass out parenting grades

It’s good marketing. But they will not charge anyone that $50 fee.
