Yeah, that place is always packed. They have a dog room however where you can eat with your dog in attendance, with menu items for dogs. They also have innertube rental business I think, or there is one right next door. But yeah, even though it could a "family" restaurant, the crowd tends to be middle aged with teens more than small kids.

I can tell the majority in this thread have never had kids.

Taking kids out to a restaurant when they’re young is tough. It’s really not enjoyable because you’re working so hard to keep them behaved. At the same time, kids are going to be kids and if I got charged a $50.00 fee I’d simply pay for just the food and tell them to frick themselves on the extra fee.

It’s the arbitrary nature that annoys me. Make it 21+ or a $50 charge if you bring kids. The staff deciding if your kids were well behaved enough is asinine. I get hit with a $50 fee I’m showing up with a daycare bus of brats during tomorrow’s dinner for french fries and a $50 cover charge.

We’ve been complimented many times by strangers about our kids good behavior in public. Those poor saps have no idea the threats we’ve made. When we get home and and they wanna act a damn fool I’ll open the back door and let them out like the dogs and they can do whatever the hell they want. But they know if they make a scene in public there will only be pain.

Found the guy that lets his obnoxious little bastards run the restaurant and the store screaming.

My kids did not act up, becuse they knew it was not allowed. You would be taken outside. I was pretty lenient, but there were rules. Acting like you had some sense in public was one of them.

I was the youngest of 4 boys. We didn't act up in public. If you acted up in public with our mother, may God have mercy on you. She was going to have none. We knew what was expected of us. All Daddy had to say was, "you better settle your butt down." Mama didn't give such warnings.

...and act up in church? no! No! NO!

Real talk, I've taken a kid to the car while my wife ate with my other two. He got to eat a sandwich at the house and I got cold take out. But it just takes one or two lessons and they figure it out. They eat out like perfect angels and even fly without causing a scene. You'll listen or you don't get to do rewarding, fun things.

That’s not what I said. But I’m also intelligent enough to understand that kids aren’t robots either.

I’m sure you were always perfectly behaved like the good little angel you are.

After dinner you probably came home to a fresh baked apple pie from Mom too in your little utopian upbringing.

That I agree with.

If you need a $50.00 charge your restaurant is too shitty to make that obvious.

I got no problem with it in theory, but the fine print seems vague enough to where they can charge it to anyone who comes in with kids, regardless of how the kids are actually acting.

Kid behaving watching a movie on his tablet and the rant is triggered...

Kid acting a fool running around the place and the rant is triggered..

Kids can't win.

This is exactly why parents give their kids a tablet, so they will behave and not run around the restaurant and scream and yell at the table.

Another reviewer claims he was charged $50, even though his children were well behaved. “The owner came out and told me he was adding $50 to my bill because of my children’s behavior. My kids watched a tablet until the food arrived, ate their food and my wife took them outside while I waited and paid the bill.”

This is horseshite, if true. If the kids behaved just like the father said, he should have told them to shove that fee up their asses and only paid for the rest of the bill......and expect jack shite for a tip.

How many times in your life have you actually seen this happen?

EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. YOU. GO. TO. THE. GROCERY. STORE.

Went to Sam's the other day. Some little bastard about 8-9 years old was climbing the cases of water like he was at a rock climbing facility. His stupid bitch of an idiot that spit him out of her arse was just standing there.

Screaming kids in a restaurant? NEVER......

Do you leave the fricking house?

No, actually I was a hellion. I was the "problem child".

Even then I knew. Embarrass mama in this store by acting like a fool, she is going to be the "problem mother" when she lights my arse up.

It's called discipline.

Here is a tip. No one thinks your little heathen bastard showing his arse is cute, but you.

I wouldn't say it's trashy, it's lazy AF. Talk to your kids at dinner, teach them how to have meaningful conversations.

If we have truly exhausted everything there is to talk about with my 3 kids, we will break out tik tac toe on a napkin.

I also will only take my kids out to eat somewhere it is traditionally loud, Mexican restaurant, buffalo wild wings, etc. If they have a patio, we request to sit outside. I'm cognizant that children are loud and I don't bring them to places where that would be an issue.
