re: Restaurant adds $50 ‘unable to parent’ fee for rowdy kids, menu reads

All people gotta do is walk out and not pay the bill. I've seen others do that (just recently on here)

I feel like I need to send this thread to my brother…

Nothing worse than a kid basically tripping waiters and disrupting other customers.

May need to think about adding that fee to tables full of school teachers and or nurses. Man when those groups go out to dinner together it’s helluva a scene.

I go out to eat all the time. I truly can’t think of a time a child at a restaurant impacted my meal experience at all.

Can we nominate the restaurant owner as the OT Person of the Year?

Bingo. I was just on a flight Tuesday with a baby that cried for about 45 minutes of a 2-1/2 hour flight. The baby was two rows in front of me and I could barely hear the little thing. Most normal adults bring headphones on a plane and know that you may have a baby on board when you book.

As for this restaurant, the owner did it for the clicks and he/she succeeded. BUT, you better be a damn good restaurant to alienate a huge portion of your potential customer base. I've been around some shitty kids while eating and I've never thought "THAT'S IT, I'M NOT EATING!!"

It won't be open by then

I’ve actually been to this restaurant before. They have a great patio that overlooks the river. Great place and would go back…without my kids
