She was just in the wrong place at the wrong time and the odds of a train that late at night is just unbelievably horrible luck
Very very sad all the way around! One turn off Govt could have saved her life.
What's worse is they may never find the killer.

All of Downtown BR is rated F (Red) for crime.

Soooo, just avoid BR

Same.

Or people in the Garden District, which has some expensive arse homes for living that close to the hood.

It's too dangerous for police to patrol that area; it's better to just go around.

And yet at the same time they are throwing all kinds of taxpayer money into reforming Government St into a vibrant new development area.

All that investment goes out the window when your target audience gets killed in carjackings or home invasions.

You would still have to stop. Probably think about it for a second before deciding to turn around. All of which provides time for someone to kill you.
that’s why you should set aside time to learn to do doughnuts in your charger at high speeds in the middle of intersections

Daily reminder that that subhuman cockroach pile of shite Paul, who is the police chief of the city of Baton Rouge… is such a little fricking cuck arse bitch that his pussy arse doesn’t even live in the fricking PARISH yet less the fricking city he is the police chief of.

What’s wrong Paul? Are you scared to live in the city you are the police chief of? Is crime out of control? Don’t feel safe? Is it the schools? Are they not good enough for your kids?

What are the issues Paul? Why don’t YOU live in YOUR city? Come on bitch. Let’s hear it. Tell the city why you are too scared to live inside city limits.

frick YOU PAUL. YOU CUCK arse BITCH. I know your $10 an hour whore you sexually harass up in the front office is reading this thread.

in NO. The cop pulled me over just to ask why I was in the area. I told him I was heading to the base. He advised me on the best route to get there and said (I swear to god), "just slow down for the red lights...don't stop". I listened to his advice

A friend that owned a biz in NO over 20+ yrs ago, said the beat cops he knew told him even they rolled the stop signs and lights at night..by design..and not just because they could.

Great work BRPD led by the great Murphy Paul. With that kind of quality work i can expect there to be no more tragic deaths and the thugs to be kept at bay.

Here’s to you Murphy:

Btw has there been any hard hitting journalism lately? Any media person demanding any accountability?

Gretna Police put together a task force and did saturation patrols of their neighborhood. Seriously, 15 patrol cars cruising one subdivision for a couple of weeks. Maybe BRPD could pay this area of Gov't St. and surrounding special attention.

Sorry, but that is just not “best practices”. That sounds more like a tough on crime approach and there will be none of that in Baton Rouge at the risk of upsetting together Baton Rouge type folks

This is the first thing that came to my mind when I saw the title too! "Are they seriously advertising the road diet situation right now?"

No, unfortunately Katie Easter is still working on a stolen $50 used fridge from last week being the mastermind plan of a local ultra MAGA white supremacy group, and John Pastorek has the work ethic and drive of a 3-legged mule. Nakamoto is busy chasing low hanging fruit and Weiss is working on her next flooded neighborhood ditch story. So no, not a real investigative reporter within 100 miles of Gotham City Rudge.

Keep in mind this is a route some high schoolers take to get to school.

BR High and CHS. Only a matter of time until this happens again.

When we first moved to Baton Rouge 9 years ago, I cut through a sketchy neighborhood going to an LSU baseball game.
After the game we took the same route back. It was nighttime at this point and the one red light down this street had crowds people on every corner. I told my wife to run it. No way we were going to wait at that light.
