This is about on par with another country assassinating a US cabinet member on foreign soil. Secretary Of State, Vice President, Secretary of Defense, etc.
Assuming that cabinet member was assisting in a military attack on that country's embassy.

Yes they will.
And I think it’s possible to be glad this awful person is dead, while also being concerned with how he was killed and what the response will be.

Some dickwad was on CNN saying how Trump has been making hollow threats so it’s doubtful that Iran would give this any weight. If they don’t know, now they know...
i've appreciated Trump's ability to talk loudly and carry a big stick. but then swing said stick like a dick when needed.

The official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said al-Muhandis had arrived to the airport in a convoy to receive Soleimani whose plane had arrived from either Lebanon or Syria. The airstrike occurred as soon as he descended from the plane to be greeted by al-Muhandis and his companions, killing them all.
Sounds like we ambushed him when he was getting off of the plane.
Kill ‘em all and let god sort ‘em out

“The game has changed,” Defense Secretary Mark Esper said Thursday, telling reporters that violent acts by Iran-backed Shiite militias in Iraq — including the rocket attack on Dec. 27 that killed one American — will be met with U.S. military force.

I think one carrier battle group could take out each one.

what the response will be.
That dude was coordinating attacks on American facilities in an occupied warzone and caught himself a case of Hellfires when he entered said warzone.
We just merked their top general in front of the world when he didn't stay in his lane and got caught red handed. What are they going to do that doesn't result in B-52s over Tehran?

I have little concern about how he was killed and Iran's response (granted I'm not deployed or involved in the interests Iran will target).
I am concerned about America becoming involved in another quagmire with unforeseen consequences because we go knee deep into a conflict and then won't abandon it.
But all that said, frick him, and the administration showed a reasonable amount of patience in dealing with a bad actor state.

What nobody is saying here, is that Trump is DARING Iran to give him a reason to effect Regime Change by Fire. Not only regime change, but Iranian revolution, complete decimation of Iranian oil fields and economy etc. Iran might want to take a moment to think VERY CAREFULLY about what they are inviting Our Historic First Orange President to do.

Let's hope they choose wisely
That's the problem with daring a country to act irrationally...they just might.

Iran hates us and Iraq / others don't want us around.
May be time to let them get back to killing each other, without our help.
Might be cheaper to move all the Israelies to California and give them that state.
