The bugs turned gay when the frogs did, so there are less of them now.

I know people in here may not be fans of the honeybee. But, my wife lied and called mosquito spray company, told them we have a beehive, and they don’t spray our area. We have a shite ton of lightning bugs in our backyard now.

They must have fled Cali and transplanted themselves in West Central Alabama. Good LORD my grill and windshield the last 3 weeks.
Driving at dusk sounds like I’m aggressively twisting bubble wrap.

Don’t see near as many Robins as back in the day. And way more urban Canada Geese.

I remember maybe 15 years ago telling my daughter how there used to be a lot of roly polys everywhere. She was a young girl and looked at me and said she sees them all the time. Made me realize how much of this is due to us being adults and not as present or explorer like kids are.

It seems like I always have thousands of red shoulder bugs around my house. They are harmless but nothing seems to affect their numbers. I definitely see less lightning bugs but I still get tons of June bugs in my fig trees.

We used to tie a thread around the June bugs leg and let them fly in a circle.

Only just recently saw lightning bugs again. And it’s why I won’t cut the hedge row too much - they seem to live in and around it.

I don't see near as many love bugs as I used to when I was a kid. Though I'm not complaining.

The junebug population in our neighborhood has been in decline for some time now. For years they were a dominant feature in our cats’ summer entertainment. No more.

They are grubs. People spend a whole lot of money to get rid of grubs in their lawns. Also, every development that has mass digging can kill an entire generation in the area, same for cicadas — annual and periodical.

They must've all come to my house. Had to go in/out several times last night, and I ended up using a side door with no lights. There was a massive swarm around the lights by our main door. They were running full tilt into the siding--sounded like it was hailing outside.
