Agree. I like carbonated water with a twist of lemon so I bought a SodaStream machine. I can get a replacement canister at Walmart and exchange my old empty bottle.

Absolutely.

People waste everything. All the way down to our commercial farming practices that are draining the life out of the once rich soil.

Just got back from China.
Hands down the cleanest place I’ve ever been. Was surprised at how many people still smoked actual cigarettes, yet not a single butt to be found on the ground anywhere.
The US is full of trash all over every major city.

It’s insane how much litter is on the road beside my house. I try to pick it up and it doesn’t make a dent. It makes me beyond angry. There is a large percentage of assholes on this planet.

Not buying into the hysteria of AGW (now called climate changes since the GW wasn't really happening) does not mean we should not be good stewards of the planet we have.

I’ve never been to China, but the Chinese litter everywhere they are around the world.

So communism is the answer? Maybe some public lashing like in Singapore? How’s that going to go when it’s a black mother throwing diapers out her car?

Nobody can have an actual debate about climate change because half the people google “why climate change is real” and the other half google “why climate change is a hoax” and then cite really inaccurate studies, talk over one another, and refuse to budge even a step.

Or it’s because those people are using products made from petroleum to adhere themselves to roads and create a nuisance.

Or that elite leftists keep buying coastal property.

Absolutely.
There are two problems though.
(1) Climate idiocy distracts focus away from trash clean up as it targets carbon.
(2) Climate idiocy is an international wealth redistribution scheme. So poor Asian and African countries, aka the main garbage contributors, are given a pass.

It amazes me how many toss the beer can in the river because they are worried they'll be viewed as "soft" for putting their trash in a trashcan where it belongs like the "greenie-weenies" do.

Granted I realize trash is mostly an aesthetic problem and doesn't do much to hurt the environment sans for the stupid sea-turtle who sticks a straw up its nose.

I try and pick up a grocery bag of litter every time I do something outdoorsy. Usually a quick task in LA or MS or FL.... If I had a dream it would be that one day walking by litter on the ground would be viewed as negatively as throwing it on the ground as it is today.

Beer cans and water bottles are freaking everywhere. Honorable mention is water bottle caps. People seem to just take those off and throw in the air.

How can you make that statement?
What are you basing that on?
I was in Shanghai and a few of the surrounding cities. Not a piece of litter to be found anywhere.

Are you trying to say that you think Asian people in the US litter?

I find it funny when people bitch and complain about pollution control. Again, regardless of your opinions about climate change, clean air and water is pretty nice to have, especially when you live in Cancer Alley.

Google it. It is a worldwide phenomena I've experienced countless times abroad in Western Europe, Eastern Europe, and South America (and the US). Chinese tourists are notorious assholes and that includes littering. They are aggressive, rude, impatient, and disrespectful as a whole. It's a cultural thing. Seriously, google it. They have campaigns dedicated to educating the Chinese before they leave their country on how to behave abroad because it has gotten so bad. It's not an Asian thing, it's a Chinese cultural thing.

And in China, it is well known they have awful waste disposal processes but they sweep it into areas no one sees.

Conservative cities are a lot cleaner than liberal run cities.

Look at that shite hole New Orleans.

Must be all those "conservatives" trashing the place.

I wasnt saying that conservatives are trashing the place. I meant that conservatives just LET liberals have the claim of being the environmental champions. They are missing some easy pickings here by just supporting some environmentally friendly programs that arent controversial.

Hell they could probably just say "recycling centers are complete bullshite. here are the results of our investigations. here is our plan to make recycling work".

They could literally just steal this from liberals. It's free money thats been left on the table.

The climate has always changed over time. I recently taught a history lesson on the Tudor England period. Kids wanted to know why people wore so many layers of clothing. I explained about the Little Ice Age between 1300 to 1850.
