Recommend some durable, good looking flooring.

House flooded, had to rip up all floors. Had wood laminate (trashy I know) on top of vinyl tile (even trashier).
Gotta rip it all down to concrete, have small kids so not spending the money on something like real wood. I know the flooring game has come a long way so I consult the OT in all their wisdom.
Got 4 rooms to do, furniture theme is dark woods and dark brown leather.
Kind of would like the new flooring to look a bit like wooden ship decking.
This kind of look. I’ve put in tile and wood laminate so will be doing the work myself with some buddies. What do y’all recommend, best bang for my buck?
Right now the best options seem to be the wood laminate (which I am familiar with) and the vinyl plank (which I am not familiar with).
Any help?

ETA: also, any pointers on an area rug that looks like an old style map? Or something else nautical themed? I’ve got a ship’s wheel from the 1800s that’s kind of the main focal point and other pieces of ship art, so I think something like that would be cool

The luxury vinyl is supposed to be all the rage right now.
Also, you can get some beautiful wood look porcelain, that will give you exactly what you want, be durable, and survive the next flood.... but it is pricey for both materials and labor.

Luxury Vinyl Tile.
Shaw flooring has a lot of good "wood floor" styles. It is what we put in our camphouse.
Being vinyl it is practically indestructible.

That second is dirty top pine. Nice. You can put real wood and glue it down. They have some good adhesives now and the wood can be affordable. Ride up to Netterville Lumber in Woodville and take a peek. No harder to install.

Then your best best is to go with a dirty-top heart pine like most of your photos.
You won't see the scuffs, etc. And the ones that are made will just look the part.

I'm partial to ceramic tile floors. Easy to install, almost indestructible, cleans up easily with a broom and a mop, low maintenance, especially if going over concrete slabs.
They've got so many different styles, sizes, stuff that looks like marble, terra cotta, wood planks-----the list is almost endless.
Just be sure to buy enough to have some tiles left over in case someone drops a hammer or something heavy and chips or cracks a tile.

We are putting in new flooring over Spring Break. Its a little more expensive but we are doing LVT.

Ceramics are dead. No matter what kind you install, it looks like ceramic.
There are very nice vinyl out now that lay just like a wood click together flooring. It is real thick, about 1/4" and life time warranty from ware.
I installed some in the bathroom of my guest house build.
With base boards installed.
Very easy to install and no special tools need. Razor knife and square. It floats, no glue. Runs around $2.90 a SF.
