I have an itemized spreadsheet that I am going to give them when they turn 18 along with a proposed repayment plan.

That seems low. We've spent about $40K in childcare alone in 18 months since our son was born.

$33k / year on 1 child’s childcare?

Is Seal Team 6 watching your child? Dang.

Half of that is travel ball expense.

That's like $500 a week. I spent close to $300 a week 15 years ago, so it's not unbelievable.

I re-estimated to about $40K. $1850/month for full-time day care (started at 3 months), plus a nanny 2 days a week and random sitters, which are $25+ per hour here.

230,000 divided by 18 is only $12,777. Even $300,000 is $16,600 per year. That does seem unreasonably to me. Yes, it costs $1-$2k per month to keep a human alive.

That does not seem unreasonable at all.

First guy to get shoved into a home by Jaxxson. Majority of kids these days won't take care of their parents

Sticker shock value got me!

We never put our kids in daycare / nanny etc. Only baby sitting was exceptional and grandparents or aunt, when it happened.

To your point, that run rate would make $300k seem low…until run rate changes when child is in school, depending on cost of school, of course.

I’m could do it for a LOT cheaper and kid would be just fine. That said, I feel like that’s cheap for mine.

Did they calculate the present value of the future cash outflows in order to determine the true cost?

I doubt they did, and so this is not an accurate cost.

That would be for a poor kid. The kids of OT ballers cost twice that, at least.
