Question for the atheists here

Why do some atheists say “when you die, there’s nothing - no more consciousness ever again”?
Let’s think about this logically. Let's say you're correct that all your consciousness & memories solely exist due to the particular arrangement of the atoms that make up your brain. No spiritual anything.
But how are we certain that, in some other universe in the future, atoms couldn’t rearrange themselves in the same exact pattern at some point in the future? Especially if we posit that time is infinite. The fact that they did it once (“arranged” themselves as they currently are through the processes of evolution) means they can do it again, no? Sure, it may be trillions of big bangs/crunches in the future, but “you” wouldn’t be able to tell that much time has passed.

Atheists don’t believe in a creator...of the ‘heavens’ or the human, and that’s about as far as that goes. You’re not even implying consciousness comes from God, so I’m not sure what the problem would be.

When you die, the parts of the brain associated with memory (amygdala, the hippocampus, the cerebellum, and the prefrontal cortex) stop having blood provided to them and decay. The neurons that create memories stop firing.
Your argument is disingenuous as you already know that “atoms” are not the “things” that create memories in the human body.
There are ways to argue with atheists but your theory is not one of them

If true, how would the existence of a creator god affect this statement?

It is possible that given enough time and enough loads of clothes that at some point you will open the dryer and all of the clothes will be perfectly folded.

But the processes which led to the state of all of those physical properties that make up your current memory/consciousness... are you saying that even with infinite time, it’s impossible for it to happen again in some other universe far into the future?
I mean, infinite is infinite right?
