I’m open to the idea of supreme beings. There just isn’t any evidence that suggests what that could be. Humanity hasn’t figured it out, and may never.

Well, of course there's life after death. When I'm buried, I'm still organic material that will be eventually be used/consumed by bugs, dissolve into earth used by plant life, etc. Death is part of nature, a very important part of the cycle of life.

So you, as a possible engineer, dispose of one of the scientific methods of validation of evidence in your elimination of visual confirmation of such?? Quite the conundrum.

I agree that the physical components that currently make up one's body will not resurrect into a new "you" later on this Earth.
But what if 10 trillion big bangs/crunches from now, the arrangement of physical components repeated in a different universe? How can we rule that possibility out, if time is infinite?

I don't think it would be "me" again, though.
This is how the transporters in Star Trek work. They scan you and then destroy your body. Then they send the scan to a machine that creates an exact copy of you. It's not you though. It's a copy.
