It's Louisiana.
You're lucky if they're at least doing the speed limit

I can’t believe 16 people downvoted the OP.
It’s not the left lane. It is the passing lane.
If you ain’t passing, move over.

Actually... It's if you aren't passing someone, GTFO.
I don't care if Im doing 120. If I'm not passing someone, I'm not in the left lane.

There was a group of douchebags that lined up across all the lanes of 285 in ATL and drove exactly the speed limit, causing traffic jams and enraging tens of thousands of people during rush hour a couple of years ago.
You dumbshits preaching about "following the law" don't understand that the speed limit on roads that involve federal funding are often controlled by DC, and not legislatures "close to the action," that understand that a 60mph speed limit on a road is actually more unsafe than a high speed limit that maximizes the curve on safety vs. flow of cars.
Distracted driving is unsafe at any speed, and is the core element of most accidents and fatalities. That retarded Hellcat driver doing 120 on Seattle streets hasn't killed anyone, but that abuela doing 45 in a 65 in a passing lane every day has caused hundreds of thousands of dollars in property damage alone in the last five years. She just doesn't see it, cause it's in the rear view, which she hasn't checked in ten minutes.

Where do you stand on a left lane driver that is passing the car in the right but not as fast as you would like?
Do you shoot the gap?

You should ask the OP that question, I was simply asking for clarification.
Or is it your job to ask more questions? Is it your job to answer questions?

That's a whole lot of nonsense word salad.

I drive fast so I appreciate respecting the left lane as a passing lane. However I don’t appreciate when I’m going 10 or 15 miles over the limit passing & someone gets on my arse. In that case, you can frick off and wait your turn

A woman I know says she does it because the left lane is smoother. I think her brain is pretty smooth as well on this issue.
You've clearly never driven on highway 90 from Lafayette south. Everyplace that isn't new or elevated is significantly smoother in the left lane. That doesn't excuse not getting over for faster traffic, but it is a reason you see a lot of folks in the left lane for stretches down that road.

It should be legal to run these people off the road and shoot at them when you drive by.
