Ours gives $5.
BUT
I will say my SIL fricked it up becuase she gave her son 5 gold dollar coins. So of course my son tells me the tooth fairy must be parents because it doesn't make sense that he got a $5 bill and his cousin got gold coins.

We do $5 as well, which seems to be the norm with everyone else.

dude I was getting $1 back in the early 80's. Hasn't inflation or the cost of living increases in 40 years made it worth a 5 by now? You're probably right tho just give them $1 and teach them to invest it
