My #1334006111539. It's half empty and my wife is still alive. Thanks Jiffy.

Thanks for posting. This probably explains all of us getting sick in the last couple of weeks at my house.

Last week I went through the Walmart self checkout and when I rang it up it flagged it. The lady came over and did an administrative bypass.

Did the same thing today and she came over and took it and told me about the recall. So, I basically had eaten an entire jar. No problems though…… yet

I have an unopened 2-pack that falls within the code numbers.

What is this throw it away nonsense? I want a refund. A 2-pack isn't cheap!

I kept waiting to get through to the Jif recall site since while I won't go broke over $6 I expected that would give a coupon or something for a replacement since well it is only right. I just got through and this is what it says, emphasis mine:

quote:

The product lot code range for the impacted products is 1274425 – 2140425.

Consumers who have impacted product should immediately dispose of the product.

Consumers who have questions or would like to report adverse reactions should visit www.jif.com/contact-us or call 800-828-9980 Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM EST.

Our teams are coordinating a thorough investigation into this matter in collaboration with the FDA to determine appropriate steps.

Again, we apologize for the concern this will create. Please know our number one priority is to deliver safe, quality products to our consumers. When there is any potential issue we act swiftly, as we have in this instance.

However small the economic repercussions on an individual are Smuckers shouldn't be frickers about this. Own up and pay for your error. What if a low-budget institution had bought a bunch of the stuff to feed battered women or the homeless.

Have a jar between those lot numbers. But it’s already half gone and I haven’t had any problems. Might as well go ahead and finish it I guess

Saw that recall on my homepage yesterday and checked since the wife bought a new jar just a few weeks ago. The one she got is in those recall numbers and hadn't been opened.

So, I'll just toss it and get another the next time I hit the store.

Good heads-up to mention it on this site.

On the second jar of a 2pack, and have a 2 pack, that falls within those lot numbers. Didn’t get sick on the either jar of the ones eaten, going to keep going with until I get sick.

I have a 13 digit product lot code on the jar we have. Not 7 digits.

They just didn't publish all 13 numbers. The first 7 would suffice.

My jar number is 200800111505 but the first 7 numbers fall within the parameters of the recall.

No, it's actually the first seven numbers when 425 are in the 5th to 7th position. Your jar is fine.

Thanks for the clarification. From the news story I saw, it didn't go into that amount of detail about the number and I didn't put that together when looking at the numbers.

Now to enjoy some peanut butter and jelly on some saltine crackers with a glass of milk.
