34 degrees out this morning in Nashville and I was 30 seconds from sleep to the best double espresso anywhere. Bonus: the wife hasn't wanted to go to Starbucks in 3 years.
If it ever breaks I'll buy another the same day.

It baffles me why people say twatty things to others for no discernible reason. Poster 1 says "I like espresso from my espresso machine." Poster 2 says "frick you and your machine, you don't know espresso." Poster 3, (that's me) says "why are you an a-hole?"

I would argue to the contrary. I mean, I'm not a coffee sommelier, but you can dial those machines in in such a way that if you start with good substrate in the right bean and roast level you can make a darn good shot. Those machines do not handle dark, oily beans very well, but it is not hard to find quality coffee for almost any taste that will work well in them.
I'm not a regular coffee drinker, but my wife is and we have a DeLonghi Magnifica Plus that is an evolution of that machine and once you figure out what bean you like, get the grind right and time a few shots to dial it in, it is consistent and quite good. Your parameters for creating the shot are going to be different for what you would use for a manual machine, and its not infinitely tweakable like a LaMarzocco like you'll find walking around Florence, but it will make an awfully good shot.

Every single time I get exit row seating. Im 6'4 with broad shoulders so regular seats suck.
I cringe when I am selecting seats and pay the 50 dollar upgrade but ive never gotten off a flight and thought "wow that was a waste of money".

This is correct. We also have one and once you find the right beans and settings they are almost as good as from a great coffee shop (not starbucks). Not perfect, but way better than anything else produces at home.
