I have that same gun case, always bring it to church.Hope I never have to use it.
We have a reserve deputy that open carries, sits near the entrance.
Also have a policeman that conceal carries, problem with him is he works every other weekend so,he is only there every other weekend.

Churches would be wise to urge elders to carry.

not very subtle. One would think he would walk in and start blasting as opposed to all this other theater. Glad he was incompetent.

We have a very robust security plan and team at our church. We also pay someone to come do training every couple of years.

Me too. Every Sunday. I am pretty though my church has a few plants in the congregation every mass...

I always carry at church, and sadly have many times played out what the scenario would look like. If they came through this door, if they had this type of weapon, etc.

i think about it every sunday. i have a lot of guns (inherited) and am decently proficient, but I don't have a chl and don't feel like i'm a safe person to be carrying.

that being said, where i sit every sunday, i know there are at least 5 people carrying within 20 feet of me.

we also have 3 plain clothes officers in every service.

i'm a deacon and rotate on service every month. i had a homeless dude come in and raise a ruckus in the foyer a few months back, and i diverted him to another area and got him some water and coffee and to settle down. contacted the one officer i knew on duty and 6 dudes that i didn't even know were officers surrounded him within 2 minutes. they diffused it pretty well and got him services.

I’m pretty 50/50 at Mass between being hyper aware of my surroundings and spending time with Jesus.

I think He understands how He wired me and forgives me for it.

Sick times we live in.

Sir, respectfully, we’ll be the judge of who’s pretty; not you.

And greenery is nice if done tastefully in a sanctuary.

That's it? Hell he probably wont even get any jail time and will be able to try this again.

Same thing happened with a very similar situation in Abbeville. I don’t know that he served any “real” time. Went to some mental hospital I believe.

After the TX church shooting, you'd have to be a fool not to pack in church.

So you think every person that isn't carrying a gun to church is a fool?

You don't need one if you're in Texas, unless your church specifically prohibits non LTC holders.

I appreciate this caution. You should consider some light training. 50-100 rounds a week will have you good enough to be a useful protector within half a year.

Same here and it sucks to not be able to protect your family because of some stupid shite done 10 years ago.

Texas State law will allow me to possess a gun but not purchase one. the Feds still could get my arse on that though.

They do.

A few select few, well vetted, and carrying so you'd never know. ... eta: From when I played guitar and they suggested we could be an extra pair of eyes.

Everyone on the live stream would've been just fine. All you folks in this thread, scared to go to church. Just sign into the live stream.
