While we're piling on here (I too loved PTs as a kid but don't like them now) ... in addition to needing a microscope to find whatever chemical filling they're using, the outer cake portion is so dry and flavorless it's nigh inedible.

I was always more of a Cracklin' Good (Winn Dixie brand) guy, myself. Thicker with more filling. The packet also was adorable foil that could be folded up to reseal if you only wanted 1 pastry

Try the Wal Mart Great Value brand.
Tried a box on a whim and they have more filling and are actually decent in taste and amount of filling… the cherry ones anyway.
