Ok, so in a more moral society, women would just stay at home and blindly obey their husbands? And black folks wore other things besides pants back in the day, like nooses. I think we've become much more moral in the equal rights department than the days of yore.
The only way that the days of old were anything special was for a white Protestant male who happened to be straight. It sucked for everyone else, especially worldwide with Stalin and Mao.

There is no reason the feds should have had to rule on that. The states were doing just fine on their own prior to the ruling.

Exactly. No one can answer it. They have what they consider to be " a lot" of evidence. Yet everyday, we hear how HUGE and VAST and UNEXPLORED the universe is. You have a lot of evidence compared to some things, but in the context of all of existence, the evidence is nothing.
Also, how do they know God isn't simply orchestrating these folks who need this perfect empirical proof, to come to the conclusions they do?
Whatever being it is, if its all knowing, and all powerful, it isn't held accountable to your human constructs of "proof" and "evidence".
The meaning of truth seems to change all the time.

Not surprising. Most futurologists predict that religion as a construct will die off entirely within society within a few hundred years.
I don't like thinking about how every single person born at that point will go to hell when the die, assuming Jesus hasn't returned by then. Maybe God will spare them because they were not provided the opportunity to learn about turning their hearts over to the Lord.

Look I am against the current trends of the ACLU suing schools on behalf of "offended and oppressed" kids parents. But they aren't passing laws against prayer in schools. They are just extending the constitution in ways it really wasn't intended for.

That's a cynical view, and no one can argue against you're own bias against this. You have that perspective, but you can't prove the act is inherently selfish, and unless you can read minds, you have no idea why someone would go about doing that act. I suggest you admit when you can't actually know something...maybe like those brought up religion do....in terms of scientific truths.
Hopefully you'll run into that selfless individual that you believe doesn't exist, and I promise, it won't take much to change your mind. There ARE selfless people in the world.
