Jindal or JBE for me, with Blanco receiving honorable mention. Crying on national tv after Katrina wasn’t a good look.

The legacy of Huey P Long keeps rearing its ugly head in Louisiana government to this day, and Huey P Landry seems to fancy himself the Republican/conservative version. The Long family itself left a longing legacy, that in my unprofessional opinion, ain't a net positive.
I've long believed Louisiana needs to remove that statute in front the State Capitol and throw it in the Mississippi River.

He was the first one to pop into my mind but I wonder if he was more of an indication of a problem that already existed (I don’t know a lot about his governorship).

Huey P just centralized all the real power in BR. All the money flows through the state capital and if you want any, you have to kiss the ring of the governor at the time, regardless of party.

Kathleen Blanco fought against the good ole boy network, especially people like Bob Odom, Francis Thompson and John Alario, in four years more than Bobby Jindal did during his eight years.
It was under her tenure that Louisiana began the repealing/reversing of the Stelly Income Tax Increase. The final step of the repeal was done during Jindal's tenue, though he tried to kill the repeal bill within the Capitol, but then jumped in front bragging on Fox News about it after it passed.
POS John Bel Edwards voted for the repeal, but then campaigned for Governor in 2015 claiming the repeal was a big reason for Louisiana's budget problems.
But Louisiana taxpayers being able to restart keeping more of their hard earned income began under Kathleen Blanco.
That's not to try to say she was a great Governor or great leader of the State of Louisiana, though to be honest, that's also probably not a competition filled with a large amount of candidates. I believe her heart was actually in the right place to try to do right for the state, but the job was bigger than her competence/ability was able to provide. That's probably why the Lt. Governor job was perfect for her.

Huey’s frickery nearly 100 years ago is still being felt with Louisiana nearly dead last in everything. The concentration of power and bloated needless government job programs. Corruption normalized and til this day most Louisiana residents just expect it to be corrupt.
Look at every transportation and education project that comes directly out of Baton Rouge, every single one is over budget and under delivers.
I’d bet there isn’t another state that had a Govenor 100 years ago that fricked them for so long.

He supported the Stelly Income Tax increases.
However, he didn't seem to participate in the good ole boy corrupt network. He didn't really do anything to try to push back against them, but he at least didn't have a public appearance of being an active participant either.

Earl Long. He was legitimately insane. Had an obsession with a stripper/hooker and royally fricked the state on the offshore royalties.
